Our Baby room (0-1 year)
In our ‘Buttercups’ room, we care for children from birth to one year old. This room is situated downstairs and is specifically designed for the care of babies. This room holds up to six babies at any one time and has a real ‘home from home’ atmosphere.
Our qualified and experienced staff incorporate the Early Years Foundation Stage, which is the most recent curriculum designed to provide each child with the individual care and attention that they need to develop to their full potential. We have age appropriate toys and equipment, along with cots, highchairs, baby bouncers and an area for sensory exploration.
We provide sensitive wet wipes for nappy changing or cotton wool and water if you prefer. We ask that you provide your child with nappies, creams and formula/expressed breast milk. If you are breast feeding, you are also more than welcome to come into nursery for feeding times if you wish.
Each day, your child’s key person will complete their ‘Daily diary’, providing you with information about what your child has drank/eaten during the day, details of each nappy change, times and duration of sleeps and all about the activities that they have taken part in.
Although the age range in this room is 0-1 year, Once your child reaches the age of one year old, we will assess whether or not they are ready to move onto the ‘Daisies’ room and will then arrange gradual visits to ensure a smooth and comfortable transition. |

Our Toddler room (1 - 2 years)
Our ‘Daisies’ room is for the care of children from one to two years old and is also situated downstairs. This room holds up to six children at any one time with two members of staff. The children are stimulated by a wide range of toys and equipment appropriate to their age and abilities. Our qualified and experienced staff plan a wide variety of activities in line with the Early years foundation stage curriculum, to ensure each child can learn and develop at their own pace in order for them to individually reach their full potential. Our activities and equipment are provided in a way which offers all children a certain level of freedom and choice.
Again, we ask that you provide your child with nappies and creams.
Your child’s ’Daily Diary’ will be completed each day by their key person, giving you a clear picture of their day at nursery. |

The busy room
In this room , the children can engage in more messier/louder activities such as:
- Water play - with a range of tools and equipment
- Sand play - with a range of tools and equipment
- Painting - either on an easel or table top (children’s choice)
- Play dough / Clay / Plasticine - with child size rolling pins, safe cutters and moulds
- Construction area
The quiet room will hold up to four children at any one time and the busy room holds up to twelve children. The children have a choice of where they would like to play and we ensure that which ever area they choose - there is always an opportunity to learn through play to develop their skills in Communication, Language & Literacy, Problem solving, Reasoning, Numeracy, Knowledge and understanding of the world, and their Physical and Creative skills.
At three years old, if your child is ready, we will prepare them for school. With the use of curriculum planning, topics/themes, structured activities, continuous provision and the Early Years Foundation Stage - each child is supported and encouraged to reach their full potential. Our activities are set out in a way which offers a certain level of freedom of choice.
We have changing facilities and child sized toilets and sinks. We work alongside the child’s needs and your wishes to help them learn to use the toilet and to care for themselves by washing their own hands and brushing their teeth.
We ask that you provide your child with a toothbrush (preferably in a case) and a water bottle so that drinking water is accessible on demand throughout the day. These items will be clearly labelled with your child’s name and will be thoroughly washed regularly. |
